Thank you for being here! My name is Aimée, and I want you to know what it feels like to be deeply seen, accepted, and supported, no matter what's going on with your body or where you are on your path -- and I want you to know the powerful healing that's possible when you learn to offer that kind of healing presence to yourself. Let's get started.

Why I care about your health

Full disclosure: I'm here because the first time I received acupuncture, I cried on the bus the whole way home, wondering "Is this how everyone else has been feeling, this whole time?"

It was like someone had put the key into my body and finally turned it on; for the very first time, I felt like I was fully A L I V E. I was 22, and I suddenly knew there was so much more in store for me. On that bus ride home, I started to grieve for all the life I had already missed to feeling exhausted and depressed, living with chronic health issues that my doctors told me were "normal," "not a big deal," or "can't be helped." I am alive only because of the pharmaceuticals that kept me going in childhood...but I'm well because of all that came after.

My first acupuncture session shattered and expanded my vision for what was possible for my health and my life. It lit a fire in me, one that has yet to calm down or burn out, to receive and experiment with any and all healing modalities I could find...and since I lived in Northern California at the time, that was a long list! I didn't want to lose another 22 years of my life living in grayscale once I had experienced the possibility of technicolor. I suspected the stories I was told -- that I had to accept certain health conditions as they were; that food and lifestyle didn't have a real or big enough effect on my health to matter much; that things about my body, or my immune system, or my so-called constitution were fixed and would inevitably get worse; that it's normal for my energy level, mood, and physical health to decline as I got older -- wouldn't hold up once I got into my healing process. I tried what felt like everything, from ayurveda to homeopathic medicine, naturopathy to Chinese herbs, acupuncture to structural integration, health coaching to goddess circles. A lot of yoga, several forms of therapy, holistic nutrition school, some Feldenkrais, astrology, and even more along the way...

Because I am practical, I don't spend my time and money on things that don't work, so I sorted through a lot of noise on my way to eventually pursuing a doctorate in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. Through all the healing modalities I benefitted from, I found nothing as flexible, applicable, or artfully effective as East Asian medicine. It is a beautifully comprehensive system that supports integrated healing across all the levels of our experience -- physical, emotional, mental, spiritual. Later, I encountered energy healing, which blew me away with the deep restoration it provided, and later still, breathwork meditation, which completed the healing of my lifelong asthma. It's a humbling privilege to be able to share what I've learned with you, whenever you’re ready and feeling curious and willing to feel a little (or a lot) better.

I treat my business as a never-ending, evolving experiment in how I can be of deep service to you. And since I can truly only take you as far as I've gone myself, my work is a reflection of my deep commitment to my own health. I am living steeped in the modalities I practice, the suggestions I make, and the resources I share. I keep doing my own practical, mysterious, fun, sometimes ho-hum, sometimes elusive and frustrating, everyday self-healing work so that I can help you do yours. Just like you, I am ever a work in progress, endlessly curious about what else is possible, what's beyond this next layer I'm peeling back.

I love to share what I've learned and experienced with you, because your healing is my healing, and we are in this together.

“That sounds nice, but what do you actually do?”

I offer acupuncture treatments and herbal consultations at my practice in Manhattan / Flatiron. I also support people in person and anywhere (using Skype or Zoom) with breathwork (the fastest, best emotional healing tool I've ever encountered) and Healing Touch (a uniquely effective reiki-like form of energy medicine). I teach classes, lead breathwork groups in Brooklyn / Manhattan and online, and collaborate with other practitioners from time to time.

I am aware that I do a lot of things that most people are not familiar with, and that can be confusing. I use these tools because they each arrived for me at the perfect moment, and unlocked levels of physical and emotional health and aliveness that nothing else had before. They each shifted my life so much that I couldn't help but learn more about them and how to use matter how new or mysterious they seemed to others.

Working with many tools helps me meet you exactly where you are. While acupuncture, herbs, breathwork, and Healing Touch all access and address the same root issues, they work through different levels of our physical, emotional, and energetic patterns. They are different doors and windows into the same house. They are all integral to how I support people.

Working together in NYC and Anywhere

I haven't come across a fixed formula for how to support people, because, as you've already picked up on, people and bodies are pretty amazingly different. I get to practice an individually tailored medicine, so how we work together would be responsive to what you're needing. Because sustainable healing happens when you are doing lots of little supportive things for yourself throughout each day, I often include food, lifestyle, supplement, herbal, and creative practice suggestions in our work, as appropriate. Working together may look something like :

  • A course of 4-10 weekly acupuncture treatments, which is often a good fit for acute issues or flareups of chronic issues

  • Weekly sessions, alternating between acupuncture and Healing Touch, which are a good fit for healing from chronic stress and exhaustion, as well as chronic physical or emotional pain

  • A series of 10 Healing Touch or Breathwork sessions, spaced according to your needs, for ongoing support to dig in and get to the roots of the challenges you are facing

  • 4-7 acupuncture treatments starting around week 36 of pregnancy, in preparation for labor and delivery

My name is French, and it is pronounced "Ay-May".... but I will happily answer to anything in that ballpark. Please don’t be afraid to try saying it!
