Energy Medicine Services + Rates
All energy medicine sessions can be done either in person or virtually (using Zoom).
Payment is due at the time of service. You are welcome to pay using cash, card, Venmo, or Paypal. I no longer accept personal checks. I can also accept most FSA/HSA cards for payment, though occasionally one will not go through due to settings on their end; please plan accordingly with a backup if you plan to use your FSA/HSA card.
For supplements, I use a wide (but curated and particular) range of brands, some of which are available from health food stores, other which are only available through healthcare practitioners. Most of the Western herbs, adaptogens, vitamin and mineral supplements, and nutritional products that I suggest are available through my online dispensary (through Wellevate/Emerson Ecologics) which is open to the public. Feel free to create an account and peruse my product selection for a better sense of what I draw upon.
WHERE CAN I FIND QUALITY SUPPLEMENTS?
YOUR FIRST Acupuncture VISIT
WHAT TO EXPECT
At your first visit, we will review your health history, discuss your current condition and health goals, and plan an individualized treatment plan that includes acupuncture and / or herbal medicine (and may include other modalities of Chinese medicine that are relevant and clinically beneficial for you at this time); then, you will receive an acupuncture treatment that supports the treatment plan. The needles are usually in for 20-45 minutes, depending on the condition, and most people find it incredibly relaxing and use the time to meditate or nap. The first visit is 90 minutes, and follow up appointments are 60 minutes.
Before you arrive
After you have made your appointment, you will have access to the secure, HIPAA-compliant Patient Portal, where the health history and intake form is available to complete at your convenience. No problem if you don't get to it ahead of time : you can also fill it out when you arrive, in which case, please plan to arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time.
Please bring the names of any medical doctors and other health practitioners that you are currently working with, and the results of any recent medical tests (blood work, x-rays / MRIs, etc) that are relevant to your current health goals. Please also bring a complete list of all prescription medications, herbal medications, nutritional supplements, and homeopathic remedies that you are currently taking.
What to wear
Many of the most powerful acupuncture points are located on the limbs below the elbows and the knees; that said, I also often treat using points on the abdomen or back. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing (pants and shirts that roll up easily) or be prepared to change out of those skinny jeans!
CANCELLATION + RESCHEDULING POLICY
I have a 24-hour cancellation policy; you will be charged in full for any changes made to your appointment (including rescheduling and cancellation) within 24 hours. Thank you for letting me know as soon as possible if you need to reschedule an appointment.
It is my pleasure to accept health insurance; I am an out-of-network provider for *most* insurance plans with acupuncture coverage, and an in-network provider with Oscar! Policies and coverage can vary widely, so just fill out this form -- I'll check with your insurance company for you and get back to you within 48 hours with details about your acupuncture coverage!
